Not having visited this restaurant for a few years and being partial to its type of cuisine, we decided to dine there one recent Saturday night.. Being further than we usually travel when having dinner out, we made a table reservation in advance. It was fairly quiet when we arrived, as it was quite early in the evening, but there were several other couples and small groups of patrons present during the time we were there. We chose vegetable samosas as an entree, and then selected two old favourites, lamb korma and beef saag gosht, to share as mains. All proved very tasty and were nicely presented, our mains augmented by separately ordered steamed rice. We accompanied our dishes with our preferred BYO sav. blanc. Service was friendly and efficient, and the ambience and decor of the restaurant pleasant. The overall cost was fairly reasonable. Whilst not the best Indian cuisine we have experienced, we nevertheless enjoyed our meals and intend returning another time.

We are regulars at the Plimmerton Taj and we love it! The service is wonderful, the staff always know what our drinks and starters are and its really service with a smile. The food is always consistently good, and their is a huge variety of curries which (of the ones we have had) are brilliant. Recommend you give this little restaurant a go!

I have been to this restaurant twice recently - consistently good food, served by pleasant staff!!!!. The servings are generous and we came away feeling sufficiently full, but not over-full. I would recommend Taj to connoisseurs of Indian food.

It has only been two months since my last review of the Plimmerton Taj but another visit was warranted: in short, after getting engaged at the Taj Mahal 18 months ago and being on a mini-honeymoon in Plimmerton -- another visit to the Plimmerton Taj was a no brainer. The manager recognised both and my wife from our my previous separate visits and presented us with a complimentary pompodum while we were waiting for our entrees. My wife and I share some Barra Champ and Murg Tandoori. We shared a single Paneer Tikka Masala for the main course. We both agreed that the Paneer perfectly spiced, which was ordered to a heat rating of "as the chef see fit". The breads we had were a Pershwari Naan and Aloo Paratha - both were very nice. I took a break from my usual Kingfisher Strong and enjoyed a Mango Lassi instead. And finished our meal with a pleasant Chai Masala. I'm happy to report that they have taken my advice and begun to serve their meals on plain white plates rather than the gaudy coloured ones they have used previously. The only negative note to report was our initial table seemed into be located in a draft, but we remedied this by switching to a table by the window when it became free. Otherwise we enjoyed another "bahut acha" (very good) meal at the Plimmerton Taj.
