A great wee gem hidden away in chch.
If you want a cheaper meal but still want the delicious taste, this is the place to go.
Great service and a lovely environment, complete with a wam and inviting fireplace.
Wine menu is particularly impressive as all glasses are the same price. i was particularly impressed on my recent visit when the manager brought us a taster of the newest wine they had received before we chose what we wanted to order.
Will definitely be returning.
My Wife and I had Brunch here late one Sunday morning. I had eggs benedict which was great and my wife had the pancakes which she loved. Coffee was of a high standard although took a while as was busy.Fire was on which gave the place great ambience. We will be going back.
The Green Turtle is a lovely place to go for casual coffees and suchlike with a lovely $5 coffee and cake special in the weekends. Drink service is excellent. The environment is a comfortable and stylish one. My biggest complaint is that food is delivered quite some time after it has been ordered, but other than that it's my first choice for meeting people for a drink or for a special dinner.
We went to The Green Turtle during a one hour lunch break, we were seated at a table, there were only two other couples in the restaurant. After thirty minutes, we hadn't even had so much as a drink order taken. A couple that came in 15mins after us also got tired of waiting and went to the counter to order, they were told to go back to their seats and wait. This couple was then served ten minutes later, before us. At this point, we decided to walk out, which is the first time we have ever done this in a restaurant.
Can't comment on the food, wasn't offered any.
