Went there with friends on a Sunday for lunch and was pretty surprised to see a good lunch menu which included from the likes of Nasi Goreng and Steak Sandwich. We had Garlic Bread to start with and had the Fish of the day, curry special and Lasagne for mains. We thoroughly enjoyed it and thought that the chefs did a wonderful job.

I always dine in this restaurant as I feel that they do the best steak in town, especially their Prime Beef Fillet steak with the black mushroom and potato gratin. I have always found that unlike other places you will get the steaks cooked exactly to your liking topped with their very own mushroom jus. They have also started to have a Curry D'jour on their menu which really gives a wider variety of choice for the guests who wants to try something different. I have tried all their steaks in the menu have never got into a situation where I have to return it to be redone again. They also have a very interesting entree selection of Crispy lemon and five spiced calamari and the old favorite Shrimp Cocktail. For sure we will be back again for more meals. Cheers !!!

Went for lunch on cold rainy day with two others, we had the seafood chowder to start and our main were porterhouse steak with blue cheese, crumbed fish and chips and eggs Benedict.
Seafood chowder was runny and had very little seafood. It also contained a half shell mussel which still had all the beard attached and was lacking any real flavor.
Crumbed fish and chips(a simple deep fried dish) was very over cooked and crumb was very dark.
Eggs Benedict was very sloppy and Hollandaise was split, 1 egg was broken and spread all over the plate and the other was hard.. (how hard is it to poach two eggs the same) the croissant was so sloppy from the amount of water on the plate the dish could only be described as rubbish and was not eaten.
The steak was asked for MR and was delivered WD so we sent that back..
Steak was replaced and had the smallest amount of blue cheese it would be useless on a cracker and was still over cooked.
Very poor effort and very poor food from a restaurant that not all that long ago could get it right.

Dear Jimithechef,

I was your waitress when you came in that day and I would just like to respond to a few things.

When I came over to your table to see if you were enjoying the chowder you didn't mention anything negative about it. If it was not to your liking then that would have been the time to mention it as then we could have done something about it. I also recall your guest, who also had the seafood chowder, saying how much he enjoyed it and we have only, up until your review, recieved compliments on our seafood chowder.
As for the Eggs Benedict and the Panko coated Fish, I can make no comment as I do not recall recieving any complaints from your table about them either.
I do, however, recall you saying that your steak was WD instead of MR so I apologised and imediately organised for you to recieve a replacement. I then asked you if the replacement steak was alright and you said that it was fine.
It is very difficult for us to make sure everything is up to standard and enjoyable for you and your guests if noone tells us there is a problem. It is very frustrating for all staff involved if there are discrepancies between what is said in the restaurant and what is then reviewed online.

Thank you for your comments, feedback is always helpful and I hope that next time you visit Trevinos you enjoy things much more.
Sincerely,
Harriet

I dined at this establishment recently with 2 friends.
I ordered the cajun chicken pizza, which mentioned it came with camembert cheese, cranberry sauce and cashews. When it came it, it didn't taste cajun-y, I could only distinguish a tomato-flavour sauce and there were no cashews????? I ate the pizza and it was ok, but lacking in flavours.
The soup and steak dishes ordered and consumed were declared nice.
We all ordered dessert - 2 of the cheesecake and, I, the chocolate mousse.
My companions were not impressed with the cheesecake (taste, consistency, portion) and my chocolate mousse was pretty gross (it had a film accross the top and tasted "old", as well as having liquid settled in the bottom of the glass - like it had been prepared days ago and left in fridge uncovered). I only ate a little of it - as being pregnant, didn't want to risk anything.
We used the Entertainment Book voucher, which made it a reasonably priced meal, however I won't be rushing back.

My partner and I went for dinner on a Friday night. The food was great, my steak was cooked to perfection however the slice of blue cheese was very small which was sad because I love it. The pub side of it was very loud so think they could some how use a barrier to block out some of the noise as we had to talk rather loud to hear each other. Even the waitress had to ask us to repeat ourselves. I would go back again but might choose a night thats a bit quieter
