My friend, my daughter (21 months) and myself had the most delightful brunch at She Chocolat. From the moment we arrived (on a Wednesday late morning) we were treated like long lost friends, the wait staff were super friendly and the setting is magic. The food was beautiful, a feast for the soul and body and the hot chocolate was even better than the ones we had in Europe. The truffles, which we took home to enjoy, were heaven (even the Beetroot one). We are looking forward to many more visits to sample the rest of the excellent menu.
Made a special trip to Governors Bay with my parents for a hot chocolate after a stunning recommendation from friends. We were greeted warmly at the door and taken to a table. So far so good - waited 5 minutes for our table to wiped down, dirty dishes cleared away and to be given a menu. Fascinating wording on menu and after much discussion decided on which hot chocolates to order - and at $8.50 a piece decided they must be something special. After another 15 minutes called a waitress over to take our order (we'd been at the restaurant 20 mintues by this stage). The waitress asked us if we knew that there was a 20 minute wait on drinks. We didn't and asked her to confirm that this would be the maximum time we would need to wait (we had a flight to catch later on that day). She came back to tell us that it was more like half an hour - so we left. Very disappointing considering we'd travelled there especially. How can a restaurant take 30 minutes to make 4 hot chocolates - and there were still empty tables so it wasn't like they were filled to capacity????
I was really looking forward to having a drink and some chocolate at She. But by the time my order arrived I was just too annoyed to really enjoy it. Kind of ironic considering the new agey vibe they are trying to encourage. Must be short staffed at the moment. By 3pm they had also run out of just the items my friends wanted to order.
I think that a 45 minute wait for a cup of tea and a small slab of chocolate with some cream is verging on ridiculous. Felt sorry for people waiting for real meals. My advice would be to have a snack before you go there on a weekend - it's just too busy for its own good.
when the waitress asks would you like my food to come at the same time as my guest and i say yes. you would think we would. but no.. Desert was good but the reason i chose it was for the sorbet which they did not have on that day..Let down...$10 for fries over priced...Hot choc menu exceptional
