Carpe Diem, Had a great lunch there today, I live in the area, used to visit C D occasionally upto a year ago but stopped, it was ok but not real value. I think the place changed hands a few months ago, anyway now it is a whole new ball game, front of house staff enthusiastic and friendly, the kitchen produce well up to expectations, loved the many dips that came with the Bread and Dips, then on to the garlic prawns excellent, the bottle of house red, turned out to be Settlers Hill Merlot 2006, velvet smooth. The Sunday Music was two great guys on Guitars with vocals, although not my preferred Genre, as a wannabee Jazz Keyboardist, they were very entertainingg and obviously well appreciated by our fellow diners in the fully occupied outdoor area.
carpé diem restaurant is a fabulous place to have drinks and pizza or salads during the day. the café style makes it very laid back and the outlook onto the water is great, expecially on a sunday where there is live music!. i also had a great time at a dinner party i attended.the outstanding food and service really made it a fantastic night. i thouroughly enjoy dining at carpe diem and will be returning again soon!
We have consistently enjoyed friendly and professional service at Carpe Diem over the year that we have lived in this area. Whether we just stop in for a coffee or a wine to enjoy the unique ambience (we had the good fortune to watch a pod of dolphins swimming in the marina one evening), or take friends along when a classy meal is called for, we are warmly welcomed. Last week, when we took some business associates along to Carpe Diem, our lovely waitress Renee remembered us from a very busy New Year’s Eve dinner because “she recalled being embarrassed because they ran out of water glasses temporarily that night”. That’s attention to detail! And this attitude reflects our good experience with the dishes that we have tried in this restaurant – all worthy of a “compliments to the chef” for presentation, freshness of ingredients, and taste. I signed up to DineSmart to place this feedback because I happened to read about someone’s unfortunate, and clearly unlucky, experience in January, and thought it would be appropriate for diners to read about our very satisfying visits to Carpe Diem. It is a privilege to have a place of this calibre close to home and we hope the restaurant goes from strength for the sake of our local community and the owners!
