The food at Marrakech is absolutely scrumptious! The dish I had was a chef special which included a nicely sized chicken breast with melt in your mouth pieces of pear and dates, on a bed of perfect couscous, the flavours were stunning and stayed on your pallet for a very long time! Service was extremely good, my waiter was very knowledgeable and helped me choose the right dish, mind you every dish looks and smells divine! good to see there was fresh mint in the tea pot (and no tea bag)! If i could afford it i would be there every night!!!!! Best ethnic retaurant in Wellington!!

Great food, very attentive and lovely helpful young waiter. I've been here a few times and its very consistent. Way better food than the north african place in town (Osteria del Toro).

Marrakech for lunch on a drizzly Wellington Day.
Welcome was senational, waiting staff were knowledgable when it came to specials..and explained the menu very well.
Ice water delivered without request (and it tasted filtered not straight out of the tap or Evans Bay!!)
Entree's of Marinated Olive and a Pea Hummus were bother loverly and presented well.
Meals of Beef and Lamb Tagine were both brilliant..not to hot (spicy) but very well spiced with cinnimon etc.
Mint tea was delicious and wasnt a tea bag...great to see real mint in the pot.
Staff were friendly and obviously enjoyed their work. The chef came out as we were leaving and chatted about his menu and suggested what we may like next time...and there will be a next time.

The food at Marrakech is amazing, service was lacking and the teller was not very helpful but I'd go again just for the tantalising treats they serve up. The fish was flavourful and they oils, dips etc, they'd be on my lunch menu everyday if I could afford it.

We started with Bread and three Dips, which was nice. The bread reminded me of a Malaysian roti rather than a pita bread that I was expecting. We also had the tasty Moroccan Smoothie, which had a slight berry-ness, along with a rose-water flavouring. I had the beef dish (can't remember its exact name) which included apricots and was served upon some thinly sliced potato. It was served in the authentic Moroccan tagine. It was very tasty and the meat melted in your mouth. Sadly my wife elected to have the Moroccan Burger which was most disappointing. It had no distinguishing trademark to say it was Moroccan and we both thought it tasted a bit strange. On paying, the chef said we should've sent it back. Next time we'll stick to the authentic Moroccan dishes. Not serving beer or wine was another disappointing aspect and closing so early (7:30pm) put a limit on our night out.
